How much does HubSpot cost and how do HubSpot seats work?

Cost comes from hub, tier, and paid seats, so the seat count drives the bill.

Your HubSpot bill is three things multiplied together: which hubs you buy, which tier of each hub, and how many paid seats you assign to people. Nothing else moves the number much, except the marketing contact tier on Marketing Hub.

How seats work

HubSpot sells access by seat. A Core Seat gets a person into the CRM and the tools your subscription already includes. A Sales Seat or a Service Seat unlocks the paid selling and support tooling for the people who genuinely use it. View-only access exists for the executive who wants to read dashboards and never touch a record.

HubSpot's pricing pages currently list Starter at $7 per seat per month on an annual commitment, Sales Hub Professional and Service Hub Professional at $90 per seat per month annually, and Sales Hub Enterprise at $150 per seat per month. Marketing Hub prices by tier rather than purely by seat: Professional currently starts at $800 per month and includes 3 Core Seats, with extra Core Seats starting at $45 per month, and Enterprise starts at $3,600 per month and includes 5 Core Seats, with extra Core Seats starting at $75 per month. HubSpot changes list pricing, so confirm on hubspot.com before you build a budget around these figures.

Marketing contacts, not all contacts

This is the part buyers get wrong. HubSpot's documentation is explicit that only marketing contacts count toward your contact tier and affect your subscription cost. A record you are not emailing can sit in the CRM as a non-marketing contact at no charge and still receive sales one-to-one email, sequences, and transactional email. Most portals we audit are paying a tier higher than they need because nobody ever set old records to non-marketing.

How to keep it predictable

Buy the smallest tier that unlocks the one feature you cannot work around. Add seats when a person proves they need one, not at kickoff. Review marketing contact status on a schedule. Seat sprawl and marketing contact creep are governance problems, not licensing problems, and they are the two things that make a renewal quote feel like a surprise.

LevelUp Digital is a HubSpot Platinum Solutions Partner, so read that as declared bias. We still think this model is easier to forecast than most enterprise CRM pricing. Our implementation fee is separate from HubSpot's license: see the onboarding calculator for that side of it.
