Do you provide ongoing support and maintenance after a custom build launches?
Yes. Custom tools need upkeep, and support runs on a monthly retainer.
Yes, on a monthly retainer. A custom build is never finished: the platforms it connects to change their APIs, dependencies need patching, and your own process changes. Budget for upkeep from the start rather than discovering it when something breaks.
What actually needs maintaining
- API changes. Vendors deprecate endpoints and change authentication on their schedule, not yours.
- Security patching. Libraries and runtimes get vulnerabilities. Unpatched dependencies are the most common way a small custom tool becomes a real problem.
- Data drift. Somebody adds a property, renames a field, or changes a pipeline stage, and a sync that worked for a year starts failing quietly.
- Monitoring and failures. Someone has to notice the nightly job did not run and know what to do about it.
- Small changes. New role, new field, a report leadership now wants. These are steady, not rare.
What support costs
Flexible digital support retainers, from the retainers page:
- Level 1: 10 hours per month, $1,900
- Level 2: 15 hours per month, $2,775
- Level 3: 20 hours per month, $3,500
- Level 4: 40 hours per month, $6,750
Hours are flexible across development, integration work, reporting and marketing execution, so you are not locked into spending them on one discipline. For HubSpot-specific technical work, support is $195 per hour on time and materials, training is $250 per hour, and there is a $700 per month package covering 4 hours with a three-month minimum. That package is the only fixed-term commitment we have. Everything else is monthly, billed Net 15, with 30 days notice to pause, change tier or cancel. More detail on the HubSpot service retainers page.
How to size it
For a small integration that runs quietly, Level 1 usually covers monitoring and occasional fixes. For a custom application with real users and a steady stream of requests, Level 2 or 3 is more realistic. Start lower and move up. Changing tier takes 30 days notice, so you are not locked into a guess. To talk it through, contact us.
